I'm taking Monday off, so a three-day weekend stretches ahead of me. I got out early this morning for Body Pump class and then pulled photos off my camera from last weekend.

It came today at work - the iPhoto book I made of old family photos for my Dad's 80th birthday. I was showing it to a colleague and she said, "Your Dad is going to cry when he sees this." I was thinking the same thing. The whole project just turned out just... so beautifully. Man, you gotta love iPhoto!

In other family news, in addition to my Dad turning 80 on October14, my Aunt Alice (his sister) turns 90 on November 12. We are flying into Madison, WI as a surprise for her 90th birthday party. Only my cousin (who is hosting the party) knows we are coming out for it.

Oh, my Midwest roots. I miss living near family so much. Sigh.

I have been knee-deep in photos recently, putting together an iPhoto book of old family photos for my Dad's 80th birthday. Today, I came across this photo from 1982 - the year before Drake and I were married. (Most of our pre-digital camera photos are in slides - this is a print someone must have given us.) It's amazing to think what a leap of faith getting married was at that point in our lives.

Funny too - I had almost forgotten that Drake's beard had quite a bit of red in it (his father is a redhead) - he has a goatee now which has been almost completely gray for some time.
