- 18:35 First evening with the heat on. May fire up the fireplace after dinner. Knitting by the fire = fave end-of-day wind-down.
- 18:37 Also just cast-on a new WOOL project. Knitting with wool always feels so great after working with summer fibers.

- 09:44 Another major power outage in our neighborhood last night (3 hrs. for us, longer for others). City Light having trouble resolving problem.
- 09:46 I was too lazy to reset alarm clock in the middle of the night when power was restored, so I overslept and missed my workout this am.
- 09:47 Based on the interview w/City Light this morning on KPLU I think more outages are in our future.
- 09:49 Not to overstate, but it does make me thankful we live in a country where reliable power is pretty much a given/expectation.

- 08:33 We were rather bad last night in that we went for German Chocolate Cake at B&O Espresso after symphony - so rich but so good...
- 08:34 ...and as Drake argued it *was* a German program last night (Mozart and Brahms).
- 08:41 Making what will probably be my last peach pie of the season.
- 08:44 Friends coming over this afternoon for pizza on the grill. High near 70 today but sunny - should be fine on the deck in late afternoon.
- 20:01 Fun & busy weekend - but how is already Sunday evening?
- 20:06 Pizza on the grill is becoming on dangerous habit. So good and easy once you get the hang of it.

- 10:43 Power has been out for hour and a half. Just saw City Light truck go by.
- 10:45 Meanwhile I'm knitting on our deck and monitoring City Light Twitter.
- 12:05 Power restored after about 2 hour outage. Getting on with our day including oven roasting another batch of tomatoes.
- 12:56 Enjoyed knitting while the power was out, but it 's thrown my timing off for the rest of the day.
- 18:33 Lucky we had only a 2 hr. outage. Others in our neighborhood were out much longer - some more than 6 hours...
- 18:35 ...still no word from City Light web site or twitter on what went wrong. Make me wonder if they understand the source of the problem.
- 18:36 Talk about the pot calling the kettle black - there was a Comcast service guy on our street complaining about City Light customer service.
- 19:34 Instant makeover: out of my shorts and "Life is Good" T and into dress pants and evening sweater. It's a complete a transformation!
- 19:34 Off to symphony we go...

- 15:12 Computer gremlins on a Friday afternoon? It may be time to just throw in the towel.
- 18:58 Off to the ballet... Romeo and Juliet. *Sniff*

- 17:40 We're doing a big ol' pork roast on the rotisserie tonight. Three cheers for fall.
- 18:51 Drake and I agree - the manual for our Weber S-450 grill is the worst ever. Love the grill, but the manual is a nightmare to read...
- 18:52 ...the procedures are written in a minuscule font surrounded by huge amounts of large, bold warning text.
- 18:53 We need to learn to use the rotisserie without having to wade through the manual - I think this time might do it.

- 20:35 Long day but concluded pleasantly with Monday nite knitting at the yarn shop + peach pie when I got home.
- 20:38 Drake has correctly pointed out that we have enough peaches in our house for another pie ~

- 09:51 Refreshed the flower portion of my deck garden; gave the deck a good cleaning - looks super for a beautiful late summer day.
- 09:53 Having folks over this afternoon for pizza on the deck - this may be summer's last gasp.

- 13:49 Scurried through house chores this morning & afternoon. On to some knitting and pie-making (peach!)
- 17:35 Rainy, cool day, shifting to more of a fall dinner: steak w/tarragon butter, Brussels sprouts, and roasted potatoes.

- 20:00 NeatReceipts (for Mac) is one of those things I wish I had bought a long time ago. Super-quick to get receipts saved as scans.
