- 15:55 Playing beat the clock this weekend - working thru stack of estate paperwork and bills. Want this all done by 5:00. Will I make it?
- 16:50 With 10 minutes to spare, I've achieved paperwork victory!
- 16:51 One more hour for housework and we'll be settling down for a steak dinner. Drake is preparing.
- 18:28 Sign of the times: neighborhood grocery "weekly" specials now last 2 weeks. Specials are flagged in-store with new bright orange tags.
- 18:29 And, indeed, we got some great deal this weekend scouting out the flyer and specials. Mr. Thrifty is loving it.
- 18:30 Not that I don't enjoy saving, but for Mr. Thrifty it is major sport.

- 08:14 After watching "The Red Shoes" last night, Drake's now playing the greatest hits of ballet music, including Swan Lake.
- 08:32 Against my will, Drake accepted my membership to AARP for me. Something about travel savings. Now I'm a card-carrying member. Hmph.
- 15:25 A walk and some yoga and I'm good to go again. Round II on medical bills and other estate paperwork.
- 19:09 Symphony tonight, but we're going to skip out before the Bruckner 3 and go eat German chocolate cake.
- 19:10 Hmmm, let me see German chocolate cake vs. Bruckner - what to choose? Sorry to say I'm not a Bruckner fan.
- 19:12 Normally Mr. Thrifty wouldn't let us skip out on symphony, but even he is challenged by Bruckner enough to go get cake instead.

- 11:38 Heartbreaking day. First layoffs we've had to do in the company's 9-year history. Tears & sadness all around.

- 16:26 At least some good news today - Drake had annual lymphoma screening and is cancer-free (Was treated in 2004; going on 5 yrs cancer-free).

- 08:45 At PHX awaiting flight home. Other Adkissons got off earlier.
- 08:49 It was a good (if rigorous) trip. Covered 1016 miles-Grand Canyon to Tombstone, Sedona & Phoenix.
- 14:44 Home again, home again, jiggedy jig. Easy flight back to SEA. Good to be home but miss the PHX sunshine already.
