Surgery
In August, I was diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma on my forehead. I knew I had to have it removed, but at the time I was mostly in Chicago and the doc said it would be OK to wait.
I had the procedure done this morning, and honestly, I was more than a little shocked at what it entailed. The doc came in and told me that it would probably be more involved than I had envisioned. He was right. I have a vertical incision that basically runs the length of my forehead. And a big honkin' bandage. And a bottle of Vicodin.
I'm also to expect a black eye. And I can't wash my hair until late in the day on Friday.
I figured I'd work from home today, but be back in the office tomorrow. But I will not be going into the office with unwashed hair that's for sure.
I've been assured that the long incision was necessary for the best (long-term) cosmetic result. But it the mean time, it's going to be Frankensteinian. Damn - too late for Halloween!
