Start doing just one thing
The day after my Dad died, his wife Carol and I were in the kitchen and she was reflecting on how alone she felt years ago right after her divorce. She said she told herself she needed to start doing just one thing...and so she got up and did the dishes.
It really struck as as simple, sound advice. Something I've thought of frequently the past few weeks. We all need to carry on, despite sadness.
I'm feeling quite sad today and I am not sure whether it's the gray rainy weather or the quiet house (Drake's working) or what. But, I've got my to-do list and I'm working my way down it. Doing just one thing.

It's not easy to *consciously* carry on, but it's kinda like getting up after tripping during a run - the first few steps are deliberate and painful and it's tempting to stop; but once we get back into our rhythm then it becomes easier to keep going.
