Preserving "voices" of the world's finest violins
Fascinating article in the Seattle Times today on the Fulton collection that includes some of the world finest violins, violas and cellos. There is a documentary film project to document the sound of each instrument, with James Ehnes (in town for the Seattle Chamber Music Society Summer Festival) playing the violins and violas and SSO principal cellist/heartthrob Joshua Roman playing the cellos.
The Seattle Times web site has side-by-side audio clips of four of the violins. Can you tell the difference?
