Photo of Jess

I took this photo in November of 2005. It's of my niece Jess and I included it in a iPhoto book of the 2005 deer hunting season that I gave Drake's folks. A couple of weeks ago Drake's Dad asked if he could have an 8x10 print of this photo - that it was his favorite photo of Jess. I just got the print (framed) in the mail to him today.

I had a photography instructor who maintained that 90% of a good photo is the light. I wished I had framed this photo better (without cutting off the top of her head), but I love the light in it - coming from the big picture window in the hunting cabin.

Last night, I put my order in for my new digtial SLR. I love taking photos, particularly of people, but had grown so weary of the limitations with our digital point-and-shoot. I am looking forward to a whole lot of photo fun in 2007.
