Five-spice BBQ
This is kind of an east-meets-west BBQ: marinate in five-spice and then brush with good old American BBQ sauce while grilling. Great with Parmesan-Walnut Green Bean Salad.
3 T. Chinese five-spice powder
4 T. dry sherry
4 T. soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 t. fresh ginger, chopped
Barbeque sauce
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Use to marinate up to 3 lbs. of chicken or pork. Marinate at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Grill chicken or pork, brushing on barbeque sauce during the last several minutes of grilling.
