All dressed up - and running a fever

I've been trying to shake a chest cold/low grade fever since Thursday night. I certainly thought I would be through this by now, but my fever was around 100 this morning (down a bit now) and I really can't talk very well. The problem? Tonight is my employer's (very elegant) holiday party. So I have my pretty holiday face on, my fancy outfit laid out, and I feel like crap. There are only eight employees, so yeah, my absence would be conspicuous.

I guess I'll go and leave early. Or maybe I should just bag it. Argh. I can't decide.

Update: I called my boss and let her know I wouldn't be coming. I decided people really don't want to spend time with a hoarse, coughing, feverish women, even if she is wearing a nice a party dress.
